It is great to have greenery around, but the underlying problems associated with its maintenance are way too many. A great idea is to replace your existing lawns or the hard floor with artificial lawns. Here are some steps that need to be followed:

  • REPLACEMENT OF LAWN WITH ARTIFICIAL TURF:

  • The first thing that needs to be done in case of artificial turf installation in Mandurah premises is the removal of any kind of existing grass from the dirt. The lawn must be free of grass if you want to lay on it an artificial turf.

  • In order to make sure that the area is cleared of all kinds of vegetation and prevent the re – growth, you will have to spray weed killer. This will ensure that the land is free of any kind of grass growth.

  • You will have to create a frame made of timber by measuring the perimeter of the region you wish to install the artificial turf. Doing this will help to secure the grass if you are to use some nails at the final step! Hence this acts as a preparatory step.

  • The next thing that needs to be done is the compacting of the dirt until and unless it becomes a bit firm. So if you wish to create a solid platform for the turf to be laid on, then this is what you need to do!

  • You will have to add around 50mm of MOT type 1 of the limestone chippings. Another essential of this step is to make the soil absolutely compact and free of air.

  • Next you will have to add around 15mm of granite dust or the sharp sand on the dirt. The common measurement is 25 kg of sand for 1 sq. m. You will have to make sure that this area is firm yet porous.

  • You will need nails to fix the weed membrane over the top of the layered sand, around the entire perimeter.

  • You might have to trim up the corners, if need arises. Additionally you may use galvanized fixing nails in order to keep the joins in place! These nails will help to fix the turf to the timber frame.

So if you wish to install synthetic turf in your Mandurah house, then be critical of clearing off the land and make it free of any kind of grass or weed!
